#1. District 1, Nguyen Hue Street Steakhouse iSTEAKS Review
Steakhouse iSTEAKS is located on Nguyen Hue Street in District 1, where is a tourist attraction in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, where there are the People's Committee Building and the Ho Chi Minh Statue. It is an attractive restaurant with good accessibility, a casual atmosphere, and a reasonable price for a decent steak. It is quite popular especially among locals.
I visited alone for dinner on a Friday evening and took a seat by the window. The entrance area was decorated in a flashy style, like a Broadway theater in Manhattan, New York, and the interior of the restaurant was neatly decorated in white and vivid red, giving it a feel of American casual dining.
As I climbed the stairs to the second floor, a model of a cow wearing a non la(traditional Vietnamese hat) greeted me. Since I visited near Tet holiday(Vietnamese New Year), the biggest holiday in Vietnam, it was decorated to give off the Tet vibe.
Since I came to eat steak, I ordered red wine. There were four kinds of red wine by the glass, and I ordered Santa Carolina Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon and Nu Comme Un Verre Merlot. I thought it would be good to have a variety of wines even though it is a casual steakhouse.
I ordered Teys Black Angus Ribeye (350g) for the main meal. It was a premium black Angus ribeye steak from Teys, an Australian meat processing company, and looked quite appetizing. It was served with gravy and pepper sauce, and I could choose two sides. I chose Mashed Potato and Chopped Green Salad.
The Mashed Potato, which I chose as my first side, had a salty and savory gravy sauce on top that went really well with the soft and rich mashed potatoes. It was great for dipping the steak in.
Chopped Green Salad, which I chose as my second side, was a salad made with lettuce, cabbage, carrots, and cherry tomatoes topped with mayochup sauce, which gave it a refreshing taste and felt like a good choice to go with a greasy steak.
The premium Black Angus ribeye steak 350g was a size large enough for a man to have a meal. It was not as tender as Wagyu, but it had a moderate texture, was moderately fatty, and had the unique meaty flavor of Black Angus.
It was cooked it to medium rare, and it was perfectly cooked, with a firm exterior and soft interior. It was a steak that was more delicious than I expected, and it went better with the gravy sauce than the pepper sauce.
I needed something more, so I ordered Chicken Wings as an extra. I was expecting American-style Buffalo Wings, but I was a little disappointed when they literally served fried chicken wings. It didn't seem necessary to order it, and it was edible when I dipped it in mashed potatoes and gravy sauce.
They are having a review event where if you give them a 5 star rating on Google Maps, they will give you one of three desserts. I wrote a review and received Molten Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream. It was a nice sweet ending to a meal after a rich meal.
#2. Steakhouse iSTEAKS Menu
Steakhouse iSTEAKS is an attractive restaurant where you can enjoy decent steaks at a reasonable price in a casual atmosphere. Of course, considering the cost of living in Vietnam, the prices are quite high, but compared to other famous steakhouses in Ho Chi Minh, it is quite cheaper. Although it is a casual steakhouse, it is a little disappointing that it does not have a wide selection of wines.
I visited alone for dinner on a Friday evening and ordered as follows:

Chicken Wing: 99,000VND
Molten Chocolate Cake wiht Ice Cream: 149,000VND
Santa Carolina Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon: 140,000VND
Nu Comme Un Verre Merlot: 140,000VND
The total price was 1,461,440VND, including 8% general VAT and 10% alcohol VAT, which was a bit high considering the cost of living in Vietnam. However, it was not bad because I was able to enjoy a decent steak in a casual atmosphere. iSTEAKS is a good alternative when you are craving steak but feel the price is too high at high-end steakhouses like El Gaucho.
