#1. District 2, An Phu Spanish Restaurant iBERICO - TAPAS y VINO Review

Spanish restaurant iBERICO - TAPAS y VINO has stores near the Japanese town in Le Thanh Ton, District 1, and behind the Masteri An Phu apartment complex in An Phu, District 2. Although the prices are quite high, it is an attractive place where you can enjoy authentic Spanish food and wine in an exotic atmosphere. This restaurant is always crowded in the evenings, even on weekdays, and is especially popular with Westerners.

I visited the restaurant in An Phu, District 2 to have a meal alone on a Thursday evening. It is a cute restaurant with a casual yet neat and classy interior, and even though it was a weekday evening, almost all the seats were occupied.

Since I visited a Spanish restaurant, I started my meal with Classic Sangria. Unlike regular wine, it was poured into a large, wide wine glass, which made me feel good for no reason. The refreshing and sweet taste along with the subtle red wine flavor went well as an aperitif.

For my first dish, I ordered Gambas Al Ajillo, a classic Spanish dish made with shrimp, garlic, peperoncino, and olive oil, served with toasted bread.

The spiciness of peperoncino and the rich flavor of garlic were added to the savory olive oil, and it was exquisitely seasoned with salt and pepper without being too spicy, and it was quite delicious when dipping bread in it. When I put large tiger shrimp marinated in seasoning on top of the oil-soaked bread and ate it, I could quickly empty a cup of sangria.

For the second dish, I ordered Ostras Con Mojo Verde. Raw oysters served with Spanish green sauce Mojo Verde, lemon, and Tabasco sauce. Honestly, it is quite dangerous to eat raw oysters in a hot country like Vietnam, but sometimes I can't resist the urge to eat raw oysters with white wine.

Fresh oysters were sprinkled with lemon juice, mojo verde, and tabasco sauce, and then eaten in one bite with a spoon. The lemon juice removes the fishy smell of fresh oysters and adds acidity, and the refreshing herbal flavor of mojo verde and the spicy flavor of tabasco made I want to reach for white wine.

The staff recommended Old Hands Sauvignon Blanc as a white wine that goes well with raw oysters, so I ordered a glass. This Spanish wine made with the Sauvignon Blanc variety has a fruity aroma and refreshing feeling that goes very well with raw oysters.

For the last third dish, I ordered Chorizo Iberico(50g). Chorizo was thinly sliced on a plate and served with bread. It was made with Iberian pork meat, fat, smoked pepper powder, garlic, and various spices. The chewy texture, rich flavor of fat, and stimulating flavor of spices went well with red wine.

iBERICO - TAPAS y VINO is one of the few Spanish restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City. Although it is a fairly expensive restaurant, it is a charming restaurant where you can taste authentic Spanish cuisine, and it is a good place to enjoy wine with Spanish dishes.

#2. iBERICO - TAPAS y VINO Menu

The Spanish restaurant iBERICO - TAPAS y VINO is generally on the high side for both food and drinks. Rather than having a meal, it is better to enjoy high-quality Spanish ham, cheese, and various snacks with wine or sangria. It is recommended to visit with others rather than alone and order a variety of dishes to taste everything.
