#1. District 2, Thao Dien Italian Restaurant Buongiorno Review
Italian restaurant Buongiorno is located in alley of the Thao Dien in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. This attractive restaurant is popular with both locals and foreigners, as it offers a variety of Italian dishes at reasonable prices in the expensive Thao Dien area.
The atmosphere of the restaurant, with its small but clean interior and soft music, was quite nice. I visited alone on a Friday evening to eat and sat in a corner. The empty table was quickly filled with customers, perhaps because it was Friday evening.
Buongiorno sells mainly cheap wines compared to other Italian restaurants. There are some good wines among the wines sold, but none of the wines sold by the glass met my expectations. I ordered a cheap Moldovan red wine, Chateau Vartely Carbernet Sauvignon 2020, and it tasted just like watered down.
Four slices of warmed baguette with butter were served as an aperitif bread. It was a good to kill time while sipping wine with the baguettes while waiting for the food to arrive.
The first dish I ordered was Calamari Fritti(Fried Squid). It served with mayonnaise sauce. The squid and zucchini, coated in a crispy yet soft batter, were savory and delicious. It goes really well with wine or beer.
The second dish I ordered was Tagliatelle Salsiccia Truffle. It was pasta mixed with tagliatelle and Italian sausage salsiccia in a shallot and truffle sauce. It was chewy and savory, with a subtle scent of shallots and truffle, making it quite appealing.
The wine sold here by the glass is a bit disappointing, but the food is reasonably priced, of decent quality, and in reasonable portions, so I am always satisfied every time I visit. Buongiorno is the most cost-effective Italian restaurant in Thao Dien, and is an attractive place to enjoy Italian cuisine without feeling burdened.
#2. Italian Restaurant Buongiorno Menu
Italian restaurant Buongiorno serves authentic Italian cuisine in a casual atmosphere. The prices of food and drinks are considerably cheaper than other Italian restaurants, making it hard to believe that this is a restaurant located in Thao Dien. The wines are also generally inexpensive. I wonder if there are any wines worth drinking, but the wines sold by the glass were disappointing.
I visited for dinner alone on a Friday evening and ordered as follows:
Calamari Fritti: 85,000VND
Tagliatelle Salsiccia Truffle: 150,000VND
Chateau Vartely Carbernet 2020: 100,000VND x 2 EA = 200,000VND
I was able to enjoy a wonderful Italian meal with wine for a reasonable price of 435,000VND. Buongiorno is the most cost-effective Italian restaurant in Thao Dien, and it is an attractive place to enjoy Italian food without feeling burdened. The staff's service was excellent, and the quiet atmosphere was also good for a comfortable meal.
