#1. District 2, Thao Dien Italian Restaurant Pendolasco Review
The Italian restaurant Pendolasco is located near the main road of Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, opposite the Turkish restaurant Pasha Garden Lounge and the taco shop Simple Place. This restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine at a reasonable price and has a great atmosphere, so it is popular even on weekday evenings.

Pendolasco has a nice outdoor table atmosphere, making it a great place to sit and eat on a evening. However, if you feel hot easily, it would be better to sit inside where the air conditioning is strong.

There are two buildings where you can dine indoors, the innermost one houses a wine cellar and has a relatively upscale and quiet atmosphere compared to other spots, so if you want to dine in a quiet atmosphere, this is a good place to do so.

The other building has a bar that serves cocktails or whiskey, and if you ask the staff you want to dine indoors, they will usually direct you there. I visited on a Thursday evening to dine alone and settled in here.

Pendolasco has a reasonably priced wine compared to other Italian restaurants around. They sell a variety of wines by the glass, and they also have a Carafe, which is great for those who drink a lot of wine but can't drink a bottle all. I ordered a Terre Forti Sangiovese Carafe(500ml), an inexpensive Italian red wine.

The aperitif bread came in a basket filled with focaccia, baguette, and grissini. It came with homemade chili sauce and balsamic sauce, and the already good focaccia tasted even better when tear and dipped in it.

For my first dish, I ordered the Calamari Fritti. It came in a small plate with lemon, arugula, cherry tomatoes, and tartar sauce. It was a good light snack to order with beer or wine.

The taste of the fried squid itself was ordinary, but when I sprinkled lemon juice on it, ate it with arugula and cherry tomatoes, and dipped it in tartar sauce, it added a refreshing and tangy taste, and it was definitely better than eating it on its own.

For the second dish, I ordered the Linguine Alle Vongole recommended by the staff. The linguine was cooked just right and it was decent with a subtle savory taste of clams. I felt like the clams was not perfectly removed the sediment, but other than that I was satisfied.

#2. Italian Restaurant Pendolasco Menu
The Italian restaurant Pendolasco is a popular restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine at a reasonable price. You can find a few starters and salads, as well as pizza, pasta, and most other foods that come to mind when you think of Italy. They have a wide selection of wines, and the prices are cheaper than other Italian restaurants in the area. The cold plate selection is also good, so it is a good restaurant to visit for wine.

I visited for a meal alone on a Thursday evening and ordered as follows:
Terre Forti Sangiovese Carafe(500ml): 380,000VND
Calamari Fritti: 220,000VND
Linguine Alle Vongole: 250,000VND
The total amount was 968,100VND including 5% service charge, 8% general VAT, and 10% alcohol VAT. It is not a bad price for two dishes and a carafe(500ml) of wine. Pendolasco is one of the popular Italian restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, and is a good place to visit if you want to taste real Italian food at a reasonable price.
