#1. District 2, Thao Dien Massage & Spa Mandarin Spa Review
Mandarin Spa is located in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. There are more than a dozen massage shops in the Thao Dien area, but this is one of the few that offers good massages. It is located at the entrance of Thao Dien Street near Vincom Megamall Thao Dien, so it is easily accessible and offers high-quality massage services at reasonable prices, making it popular not only among foreigners but also locals.

I made a reservation and visited alone to get a massage on Saturday afternoon. It is recommended to make a reservation because there are many customers especially on weekends. They use a system similar to Korean jjimjilbangs, where you store your shoes in a shoe rack and use the key you receive to store your clothes in the locker with the same number.

As I sat down in an empty seat, the staff asked me to choose the massage I wanted. Since I had made a reservation, I had already told them what kind of massage I wanted and how many minutes I wanted, but they confirmed it again and gave me a iced tea and watermelon while I waited for my turn.

There is a public bathing on the first floor of Mandarin Spa, where you can change into massage clothes and store your luggage in the locker. It costs 275,000VND to use only the public bathing, and you can get a 20% discount if you use a massage for more than 60 minutes. If you only take a shower after the massage, you will have to pay 77,000VND.

After changing clothes, I went up to the second floor with the guidance of the staff and received a foot wash. They thoroughly washed my feet in warm water with lime and lemongrass.

There were about ten massage beds in one room, and they were separated by curtains so that they could not be seen, allowing for a private massage. Perhaps because the curtains were thick, I could not hear the voices of the people next to me very well, allowing me to receive a massage in a quiet atmosphere.

I received a massage service on a mat laid on the floor, similar to the famous massage shop GOLDEN LOTUS. The satisfaction level of massage varies greatly depending on the staff providing the service, but Mandarin Spa generally has a good standardization and the gap between the staff is not large, so I am satisfied every time I visit.

After the massage service, I went out to the lobby and was served warm plum tea. I paid for the massage while drinking it. In the past, they used to serve dried ginger, but I don't see it these days.

The outdoor garden is also beautifully maintained, so it is nice to wait or sit at a table outside and drink tea after your massage.

#2. Mandarin Spa Menu
Mandarin Spa offers body massage, foot massage, and sauna. If you only use the public bathing, it costs 275,000VND, and if you use the massage for more than 60 minutes, you can get a 20% discount. Since there is no separate tip, you can just pay the amount written on the menu, and if you really like the service, you can just give 50,000 to 100,000VND.
