#1. District 3, Independence Palace Hot Pot Restaurant Mo Mo Paradise Review
Japanese hot pot restaurant Mo Mo Paradise is located near the Independence Palace in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. They serve Japanese-style hot pot, which is characterized by a sweet and salty broth that is less spicy than Chinese hot pot. This restaurant is especially popular with locals because it is a buffet-style restaurant where you can eat all-you-can-eat good quality meat and vegetables at a reasonable price.

I visited with my family on a Wednesday evening and sat in the hall on the first floor. There are tatami rooms on the second floor where you can dine privately, but the hall on the first floor, with its high ceiling and tables spaced quite far apart, was also comfortable and great for dining.

There are three courses, and I chose the cheapest one, the Standard Course, at 488,000VND. Because of the low price, Wagyu is not included, but I could enjoy unlimited American beef and pork, as well as various vegetables, sauces, rice, and noodles.

The standard course included desserts, so I could enjoy fruits and ice creams after the meal. There were only a few kinds of fruit, such as guava, water apple, apple jujube, dragon fruit, and longan, but there were more than ten kinds of ice cream, and the taste was better than expected.

All courses come with a choice of two broths(Shabu Shabu, Wafu Mushroom, Miso Kimuchi, Tonkotsu). On this day, five of us visited and were given a spacious table with two induction stoves, allowing us to get all four broths.

I was able to eat unlimited refills of four types of meat, including beef short plate, oyster blade, pork loin, and pork belly. Although wagyu was not included, the meat provided as a basic course was not bad, and there were a variety of vegetables and the broth was refilled, so I was able to have a satisfying meal.

I was able to eat by taking fresh mushrooms and leafy vegetables directly from the salad bar. If there were not enough vegetables in the salad bar, the staff would refill them right away, so there was no inconvenience. As expected of a Japanese franchise, it felt like the staff was managed thoroughly.

They provided several sauces for dipping vegetables and meat, such as tsuyu sauce, sesame sauce, and soy sauce, and could make my own sauce to my taste at the sauce bar. It doesn't have as many options as Haidilao, but it wasn't bad.

Mo Mo Paradise has four types of hot pot broth: Shabu Shabu, Wafu Mushroom, Miso Kimuchi, and Tonkotsu. Personally, I liked the Miso Kimuchi broth the best.

I ordered the cheapest course, but the quality of the meat, including the beef short plate, oyster blade, pork loin, and pork belly, was not bad. The taste and texture were both better than expected, and most importantly, when I asked for meat, it was served quickly without interruption while I was eating, so I was able to have a very satisfying meal.

I ordered a small bottle of sake Dassai 45 to drink with the hot pot. Dassai Junmai Daiginjo 45 is a clean and refreshing sake with a moderate sweetness. They served the bottle in an ice bucket so I could drink it cold.

The salad bar features ramen, buckwheat noodles, and rice noodles. Ramen and buckwheat noodles are cooked in hot boiling broth and then eaten after being scooped out. For rice noodles, pour the hot broth directly into a small bowl containing the noodles.

After the meal, I was able to eat as much as I wanted from the ten or so ice creams at the dessert bar. The quality was better than I expected. The mango and lychee flavors were delicious, but the matcha ice cream was my favorite.

#2. Hot Pot Restaurant Mo Mo Paradise - Menu
Japanese hot pot restaurant Mo Mo Paradise offers a hot pot buffet, from the cheapest Standard Course at 488,000VND to the most expensive Japanese Wagyu Course at 1,488,000VND. The prices of drinks, including alcohol, are reasonable, and you can enjoy a cheaper meal with a lunch set at lunchtime.

I visited with my family on Wednesday evening and ordered the following for dinner.
Standard Course: 488,000VND x 5 EA = 2,440,000VND
Sake Dassai 45: 549,000VND
Wet Tissue: 5,000VND x 5 EA = 25,000VND
Drink Bar: 39,000VND x 3 EA = 117,000VND
Japanese Green Tea: 39,000VND
Including 8% VAT, the total came to 3,477,200VND, which is a reasonable amount. Considering the cost in Vietnam, the price range is a bit high, but since you can eat unlimited fresh vegetables and good quality meat, it feels like a good value when compared to other hot pot restaurants like Haidilao. Since it is a Japanese restaurant, the staff service was excellent, and I was able to have a satisfying meal with my family overall.
