#1. District 1, Ben Thanh Market Local Restaurant Bun Rieu Ganh Review
Local restaurant Bun Rieu Ganh is located near Ben Thanh Market in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. This restaurant specializes in Bun Rieu, a type of Vietnamese rice noodle dish made with rice noodles(bun) in a broth made from tomato and freshwater crab paste. Located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, it is a popular restaurant visited by more locals than tourists due to its reasonable prices and good food.

This is a cute local restaurant that uses the first floor of a small building as a restaurant, and it is crowded with locals during meal times. There are not many seats to eat, but the table turnover is fast, so will be seated quickly.

At the entrance of the restaurant, various vegetables, broths, and toppings are prepared in advance, so the food will be served within 5 minutes after ordering. There were also many delivery orders, so it was noticeable that delivery drivers were constantly coming and going.

I ordered a Dua Tuoi(Fresh Coconut) as a drink to go with my meal. It was more expensive than I thought at 35,000VND, but it was understandable since it was a restaurant in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. The coconut quality was decent, with a sweet and nutty taste.

I ordered Bun Rieu for my meal. It came with vegetables such as Thai basil, bean sprouts, and banana flowers, and a spicy sauce with mam tom and chopped chili peppers.

Bun Rieu is a sweet and sour spicy broth made with freshwater crab paste and tomato, topped with freshwater crab meat balls, tofu, blood pudding, tomatoes, etc. The pungent smell and sweet and sour taste may be off-putting to those who are not familiar with Southeast Asian food, but for those who know how to eat, it is a truly delicious.

I was able to enjoy it more deliciously by adding various vegetables such as Thai basil, host, and banana flower, and a moderate amount of spicy sauce. The amount does not seem to be much, but it is full of toppings, so it is just right for a meal.

There are coconut snacks and Cha Cay(Vietnamese Ham) on the table, which are good to eat with Bun Rieu. Of course, it is not free, but the price of Vietnamese ham is cheap at 10,000VND per piece, so it is easy to eat without feeling burdened.

Cha Cay(Vietnamese Ham) is not as greasy as it looks and has a light taste, making it a great beer snack. It is delicious on its own, but it also goes really well with Bun Rieu.

A local restaurant, Bun Rieu Ganh is located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, making it easily accessible and an attractive choice for its decent Bun Rieu at a reasonable price.

The price of the food is quite cheap for a local restaurant located in the city center, and the price of the drinks is reasonable.
