#1. District 1, Tan Dinh Church(Pink Church) Vegetarian Restaurant OM Eatery Review
Vegetarian restaurant OM Eatery is located at the entrance of an alley opposite Tan Dinh Church(Pink Church) in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. It is a small but clean and classy restaurant. It may seem a little expensive considering the local Vietnamese prices, but it is an attractive place where you can enjoy clean vegan food at a reasonable price.

My wife and I visited on Sunday lunchtime and sat in a corner on the first floor. The interior was neat and luxurious, but it had a unique Vietnamese feel with traditional Vietnamese crafts and decorations placed here and there.

Among the dishes I ordered, Mushroom Tempura came out first. Fried mushrooms such as enoki mushrooms, pine mushrooms, and oyster mushrooms were served in a rice cracker bowl with yogurt sauce. The mushroom tempura itself was not greasy and had a light and savory flavor, which was appealing, but I felt that the mild and sour yogurt sauce did not go well with it.

I asked the staff for some sweet and spicy Vietnamese chili sauce and dipped it in it, and that's when I realized I had found perfect match with tempura. Just by changing the sauce, the flavor doubled.

For my drink, I ordered Flowers Tea, which came with candied ginger. It was a hot tea with a sweet taste and a subtle floral aroma, not my type as I prefer green tea or black tea.

My wife ordered Bun Hue, which came with various vegetables and sauce. Unlike the original Bun Bo Hue, which has bone broth and beef, this one has mushrooms instead of beef in the vegetable broth.

With the refreshing taste of lemongrass and the spiciness of chili peppers, the soup tasted almost like the original, and the clean feeling from the vegetable broth was quite good. Even though there is no meat, there was no regret at all in terms of texture because various mushrooms such as shiitake, pine, and oyster mushrooms were added.

I ordered the Pine Nut Pesto Linguine, which came in a large plate with pesto pasta and arugula salad. It was a decent pasta dish with a light yet savory flavor, topped with Parmesan cheese and peanuts.

OM Eatery is a vegetarian restaurant that serves Vietnamese and Western vegetarian dishes. It is a good place for those who are interested in or like vegetarian food. I think this restaurant would be attractive to those with sensitive stomachs because it is not spicy, not greasy, and does not leave you feeling bloated after eating.
