#1. District 7, Phu My Hung Local Restaurant Bun Bo Vy Da Xua Review
Local restaurant Bun Bo Vy Da Xua is located at the end of an alley where pho restaurant Pho Viet Nam is located in Phu My Hung, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Although the price is a little high, you can eat delicious bun bo with a variety of ingredients as toppings, so it is always crowded with customers.
This restaurant operates with a simple tent set up in a large space, and the interior is quite clean for a local restaurant. Since it is an area where many foreigners live, you can see quite a few foreigner customers. Considering the prices in Ho Chi Minh City, the prices are a bit high, but seeing that there are more local customers, this place is definitely a delicious restaurant.
Lime slices, pepper slices, chopped red peppers, pickled peppers, and nuoc mam that you can add in bun bo are on the table. Also, there were spoon and chopsticks, toothpicks, wet wipes, etc.
For my drink, I ordered Sua Dau Nanh(Soy Milk). Sweet and savory soy milk goes well with greasy and spicy foods like bun bo. Not often, but I occasionally order soy milk when I eat bun bo or pho.
For my meal, I ordered Bun Bo Vy Da Xua's signature dish Dac Biet(Bun Bo Special). It is a type of rice noodle from the central region of Vietnam, characterized by a spicy, sour and sweet taste made by adding mam ruoc(shrimp fish sauce), lemongrass and chili oil to the rich broth boiled with beef bones and meat. It is quite generous with various ingredients such as brisket, cheek, pork rump, Vietnamese ham, crab meatballs as toppings.
Various vegetables such as bean sprouts, banana flowers, mint, and Thai basil are boiled in water and served with bun bo. When added to the bun bo with lime juice, it improves the taste by reducing the greasiness and adding flavor and a variety of textures. If you feel that the bruth is a bit boring, you can add some chopped pepper to add a spicy taste and enjoy the bun bo even more deliciously.
#2. Local Restaurant Bun Bo Vy Da Xua Menu
Local restaurant Bun Bo Vy Da Xua offers different types of bun bo depending on the ingredients used, such as brisket, cheek, shank, and tendon. If there are not any ingredients you don't like, it is recommended to order Dac Biet(Special Bowl) and enjoy the various textures and tastes of various ingredients. The overall menu prices are a bit high for a local restaurant, but considering the cost of living in Phu My Hung, it's not bad.
I visited on a Wednesday evening to dine alone and ordered the following.
Dac Biet(Bun Bo Special): 100,000VND
Sua Dau Nanh(Soy Milk): 15,000VND
Wet wipe: 3,000VND
For a total of 118,000VND, I was able to fully enjoy bun bo, a type of rice noodles from the central region of Vietnam. Bun Bo Vy Da Xua is a local restaurant where you can taste delicious bun bo with plenty of portions and rich taste. It is definitely worth a visit if you live nearby.
