#1. District Binh Thanh, Pham Viet Chanh Street Japanese Restaurant AOYAMA Review
Japanese restaurant AOYAMA is located on Pham Viet Chanh Street in District Binh Thanh, which is called Little Tokyo or the second Japanese town in Ho Chi Minh. This Japanese-Western restaurant, run by a Japanese owner, offers the same flavors you've had in Japan, such as omelette rice, hamburger steak, and croquette, making it especially popular with Japanese people living nearby.

The first floor of the restaurant has a kitchen and bar tables, and the second floor has regular tables. I visited on a Tuesday evening to dine alone and sat at the bar table on the first floor.

To start the meal, I ordered the Aperoru Cocktail. Made with Aperol, a representative Italian aperitif made with herbs, gentian, and orange, it was low in alcohol and had a citrusy flavor, a subtle sweetness, and a bitter aftertaste.

For the main of the dinner, I ordered Omurice Hayashi. It was a soft omelette topped with a demi-glace base Hayashi sauce, and inside the omelette was fried rice.

The fried rice was made by stir-frying finely chopped vegetables, ham, and other ingredients with ketchup, and had a familiar sweet and sour taste overall. It was nothing special, but it was more appealing because it tasted just like the ones I had at family restaurants in Japan.

I thought it would be boring to just eat omelette rice, so I ordered Grilled Salmon on Potato Salad as a side. It had salmon in a flower shape that was lightly grilled on the outside on top of mashed potatoes, and it was covered in a refreshing sauce with mustard.

The rich flavor of the soft mashed potatoes and the light taste of the oily salmon were combined with the refreshing sauce and spicy pepper, making it not too spicy but not too bland, and better than I expected.

AOYAMA's food is reasonably priced and comes in moderate portions, making it a great place to visit and dine alone. If you want to try authentic Japanese-Western cuisine in Ho Chi Minh City, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

As a Japanese-Western restaurant, in addition to beer, sake, and highballs, they also serve a few wines and cocktails at reasonable prices, so it seems like a good place to order drinks that go well with dishes.

#2. Japanese Restaurant AOYAMA - Menu
Japanese restaurant AOYAMA is an attractive restaurant where you can taste Japanese-Western style dishes in Ho Chi Minh. In addition to beer, sake, and highballs, it also sells wine and cocktails, and you can also order snacks such as cheese plates. The prices are generally similar to other restaurants in the area, and the taste is good, so it is popular among Japanese people living in Ho Chi Minh.

I visited on a Tuesday evening to dine alone and ordered as follows:
Omurice Hayashi: 198,000VND
Grilled Salmon on Potato Salad: 158,000VND
Aperoru Cocktail: 120,000VND
Sapporo Draft Beer: 60,000VND
Including the 5% general VAT and 5% service charge, the total came to 589,600VND. It is a bit high for a meal alone considering the cost of Vietnam, but it is an attractive restaurant because you can taste the same taste as you would in Japan. AOYAMA is a restaurant where you can enjoy a variety of Japanese-Western style dishes at a reasonable price, so it is worth visiting.
