#1. District 1, Ben Thanh Market VIP Barbershop Review
VIP Barbershop is located near a gas station and Nguyen Kim appliance store in the area where have many barbershops across from Ben Thanh Market in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Since the end of COVID-19, more than ten barbershops have opened in this area of District 1, and among them, this one is one of the better ones, with many Korean and Chinese customers.
Because it's crowded both on weekdays and weekends, it's recommended to make a reservation unless you're planning to visit early in the morning. I made a reservation late Sunday afternoon and, as expected, it was so crowded that I wouldn't have been able to take a service without a reservation.
I sat in the waiting room, sipping iced tea, and waited for my turn. Once ready, the staff guided me to the massage room. The clean interior and darker atmosphere, unlike other barbershops, made for a truly relaxing experience.
I sat in a massage chair and chose the intensity and services I wanted. It's easier to mark the services I don't want and tell the staff. While not on the menu, they also service nose pack upon request.
I changed into the massage clothes provided and received the service. The service proceeded in the following order: foot washing, exfoliation, shaving, facial massage, cucumber pack, ear cleaning, nail care, leg massage, and arm massage. After that, I was taken to the shampoo room.
In the shampoo room, services are provided in the following order: leg massage, back massage, shampoo, stretching, drying. There is also a changing room, so you can change clothes after receiving all the services.
After shampooing, the staff dried my hair with a hairdryer, and I was able to brush my teeth. Skin care products, lotion, and even wax were available for me to use if needed.
After changing, you can choose a drink from the beverage fridge. It's free, so even if you don't want to drink it, it's a good idea to take one. You can drink while sitting in the waiting room on the first floor, or you can just take it.
#2. VIP Barbershop - Menu
VIP Barbershop offers a basic 90min service for 500,000VND and a 100min service for 600,000VND. Tips are included, and most barbershops in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, offer this price range. A four-handed with two staff costs 900,000VND for 90min and 1,000,000VND for 100min.
Since last year, the proliferation of barbershops in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, has intensified competition among businesses offering their services. Price increases have slowed, the quality of massage services has improved, and barbershops are offering a choice of after-service drinks and even providing massage uniforms, demonstrating an overall improvement in the quality of their services.
