#1. District 1, Ton Duc Thang Street Korean BBQ Arirang Restaurant Review
Arirang, a Korean BBQ restaurant, is located near the intersection of Ton Duc Thang Street, home to the Tran Hung Dao statue, in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Just over a decade ago, this place was considered the most upscale Korean restaurant in downtown Ho Chi Minh City. While the restaurant recently relocated and its location has changed slightly, the interior remains largely unchanged, and the food remains excellent.

Although the restaurant has been in operation for over ten years, it recently relocated, so the interior was clean. Five friends and I made reservations for a Saturday evening, but everyone seemed to be eating in their rooms, and there were no other diners in the hall.

There seemed to be more private dining rooms than I'd expected. Depending on the number of guests, partitions between rooms could be removed to maximize the space. Although we were a party of six, we were given a spacious room that could comfortably accommodate twelve.

It's been two years since I visited, and I could definitely feel the improvement in the number of side dishes and the taste. The side dishes included ssam, green onion salad, salad, zucchini fritters, water kimchi, cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, tteokbokki, sweet potato salad, braised mackerel, seasoned spinach, seasoned perilla leaves, and pickled onions in soy sauce.

For grilled meat, I ordered 6 Servings of Bottom Sirloin. The visual impact of the bottom sirloin with its dense marbling, resembling a flower, was stunning. Arirang's beef quality is not bad compared to other famous BBQ restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, as it is a cut that definitely provides great satisfaction as it is expensive.

Arirang's rooms don't have ducts, so the meat is grilled in the hall by staff. The meat was grilled and placed on a small plate on the brazier. Just ask the staff how well you want your meat cooked.

The finely marbled beef, topped with a generous amount of wasabi and dipped in salt, was truly delicious. The wasabi used at Arirang was of excellent quality, and it cut through the greasiness of the fatty beef and adds a rich flavor, making for a perfect match.

I was bored with just eating meat, so I ordered Kimchi Stew, Seafood Soybean Paste Stew, and Beef Tartare Bibimbap. The food was generally okay, but it was a bit disappointing that they didn't provide side dishes like stew or steamed eggs when eating beef.

After finishing the meat, I ordered Cold Noodles in Chilled Broth(Small) and Cold Soba(Small) for my last meal. The quality of these noodles felt better than the other meals. The refreshing cold soba was especially good.

The Cold Noodles in Chilled Broth(Small) was generously portioned, with thin, white noodles complementing the refreshing, savory broth, making it a refreshing and satisfying way to end the meal. It had been a while since I'd visited Arirang, and the food had improved considerably. Overall, I felt it was acceptable, but the service was a bit disappointing.

#2. Korean BBQ Arirang Restaurant - Menu
Arirang offers a variety of Korean cuisine, including grilled meats of various cuts of beef and pork, as well as a variety of dishes and alcoholic beverages. As a high-end Korean restaurant, its prices are generally higher than other Korean restaurants, but the taste is generally acceptable. Located near the Hilton, Sheraton, Caravelle, and Majestic Saigon, renowned five-star hotels in Ho Chi Minh City's District 1, Arirang offers numerous private dining rooms, making it a great place to entertain guests.

On Saturday evening, five of my friends and I visited and ordered the following:
Bottom Sirloin: 740,000VND x 6 EA = 4,440,000VND
Beef Tartare Bibimbap: 230,000VND
Kimchi Stew: 180,000VND
Seafood Soybean Paste Stew: 180,000VND
Cold Noodles in Chilled Broth(Small): 110,000VND x 3 EA = 330,000VND
Cold Soba(Small): 110,000VND
Jinro Soju: 140,000VND x 6 EA = 840,000VND
Chamisul Soju: 140,000VND x 3 EA = 420,000VND
Makgeolli: 220,000VND
Tiger Beer: 60,000VND x 4 EA = 240,000VND
Lime Juice: 50,000VND
With 8% general VAT and 10% alcohol VAT, the total came to 7,853,600VND. After a long time, I visited and dined at the once-popular Korean restaurant Arirang. While the meat and food itself weren't bad, the service was disappointing. While it won't be easy to regain its former glory, I personally believe that if they improved their staff management and provided more satisfactory service, they'd likely see more customers.
