#1. District 2, Masteri An Phu Korean Restaurant Kyung Bok Gung Review
Korean restaurant Kyung Bok Gung operates shops on Hai Ba Trung Street in District 1, and behind Masteri An Phu in District 2. This restaurant, renowned for its delicious Korean cuisine, recently opened a new location in District 2. Like its first location, it offers a sophisticated atmosphere and a wide variety of authentic Korean dishes, attracting many Korean residents living nearby.

The ground floor of the restaurant houses the kitchen and dining hall. Upon entering, mother-of-pearl paintings and Joseon Dynasty portraits hung throughout the space, giving the place a luxurious feel. The first and second floors have private dining rooms.

My group of six visited for lunch on a Saturday, and we were given a spacious room at the end of the second floor. The room was filled with oriental paintings, these kept me from getting bored and made me feel I was in a Korean restaurant.

Kyung Bok Gung's side dishes exceeded my expectations. It was diverse, including rolled eggs, seasoned tofu, stir-fried glass noodles, stir-fried anchovies, stir-fried potatoes, seasoned fish cakes, pickled vegetables, salad, and seasoned vegetables. Each and every one was so nice that I refilled several times while waiting for my meal.

Before each person ordered their own meal, we ordered Boiled Pork Belly with Honey Butter Garlic Sauce for our first course. A large plate was filled with boiled pork belly topped with garlic sauce, cabbage, lettuce, perilla leaves, seasoned dried radish, garlic, and chili peppers.

The boiled pork, topped with garlic sauce, seasoned dried radish, and kimchi, was truly delicious. The tender texture of the boiled pork and the savory yet sweet garlic sauce, which cut through the greasiness and added flavor, were a perfect match.

For the meal, I ordered a Rich Soybean Paste Stew Set Menu, which included rich soybean paste stew, rice cooked in a pot, and bibimbap ingredients. It was too much for one person, so it seemed like it would be fine for two.

The Rich Soybean Paste Stew was not too salty, but rather soft and had a deep, rich flavor. The unexpectedly light broth was appealing, and it was definitely a well-made soup beyond my expectations.

I scooped out some of the rice from the pot and ate some with the rich soybean paste stew and mixed the rest into the bibimbap ingredients. The beans in the pot rice were undercooked, so the texture was a bit hard, which was a bit jarring, but other than that, the portion was generous and the taste was delicious, so I had a satisfying meal.

#2. Korean Restaurant Kyung Bok Gung - Menu
Kyung Bok Gung is a famous Korean restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to grilled meat menu, it also sells various meal set menus, boiled pork belly, stir-fried spicy octopus, raw beef, green onion pancakes, grilled mackerel, acorn jelly salad, and other snacks, as well as spicy buckwheat noodles, cold buckwheat noodles, soy sauce butter egg rice, radish kimchi fried rice, and rice with soybean paste stew.

Six of us, my friends and I visited for lunch on Saturday and ordered the following:
Boiled Pork Belly with Honey Butter Garlic Sauce: 620,000VND
Boiled Pork Belly with Medicinal Herbs: 580,000VND
Steamed Barley Rice Set Menu: 230,000VND
Rich Soybean Paste Stew Set Menu: 230,000VND x 2 EA = 460,000VND
Cockle Bibimbap: 240,000VND x 3 EA = 720,000VND
Jinro Soju: 150,000VND x 4 EA = 600,000VND
Tiger Beer: 50,000VND x 4 EA = 200,000VND
Including 8% VAT, the total came to 3,682,800VND. While the price of the meal is a bit higher than other Korean restaurants, it's worth it for the authentic, delicious Korean dishes you get in generous portions, and I'm always very satisfied with my visit. Kyung Bok Gung is a charming Korean restaurant perfect for visiting important guests or family.
